La Parada Extea Rural House is named after the original use of the house. It was built in 1943, and was originally designed as the horse stables-stop for the stallion mating and breeding; hence the name and the external appearance of the house.
Abárzuza (Abartzuza in Basque) is a municipality of the autonomous community of Navarre, situated in the Merindad of the Estella region, 42 kilometres from Pamplona-Iruña, the capital of Navarre. It is located on the mid-western side of Navarre, and geographically belongs with the Deierri-Yerri Valley. The altitude is 567 metres above sea level and has a population of approximately 548 inhabitants.
